Rachmaninoff Music Academy is a music school that not only teaches music to young people, we also teach senior citizens who may have once played a musical instrument and want to take up that instrument again. We provide classes to music instructors and music therapists on how to use our unique teaching technique to help others who may be recovering from a stroke or other related brain disorder.
In addition, Rachmaninoff Music Academy also runs classes for music instructors that are new Canadians. Many have taken an "English as a Second Language Course" but these fail to teach the many technical terms and the application of these terms needed to find work in today's competitive market.
Effective January1, 2012, Rachmaninoff Music Academy received certification from the Federal Minister of Human Resource and Skills Development Canada as an Educational Institution under subparagraphs 118.5(1)(a)(ii) and 118.6(1)(a)(ii) of the Income Tax Act.
Accordingly, students may claim the fees paid to the institution for purposes of their tuition, as well as examination costs and textbook tax credits provided that the fees total more than $100.00 and qualify as eligible tuition expenses. Additionally, students must have attained the age of 16 before the end of the year and the courses and/or programs supplied must provide the student with sufficient skills to enable them to work or improve their skills in a recognized occupation.
